About Me

I am very easy going and open minded. With that I mean I am perfectly satisfied with a spot where I can unfold my sleeping bag and have a nice conversation. Friends are family, with the right people I feel home anywhere on this planet. I'm originally from Germany but I've spent more than half of my life in Africa which is probably one of the reasons why I love to explore the world we live in. I moved to Sweden about 1,5 years ago for my Master studies and I absolutely love living here, one of my main interests is exploring more of the surrounding countries and the North.
I'm an information-addict, I love to read about the world, I adore philosophy and astronomy / astrophysics and criminal law. I can't get enough of meeting new people and seeing new places, especially on the back of a horse. I live for new adventures. Other than that I have been a vegetarian / vegan for most of my life, I like learning about nutrition, it's a very interesting subject to me.
One of my favourite quotes is: "In the end you always travel with expectations about places to visit, but you end up with memories about people you meet".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing because I love to get inspired by people all over the world. This community creates the possibility to experience every country in its own special way. I'm looking for amazing people to stay or hangout with, learn a little better Swedish or French and just to be connected with the local community rather than be excluded in hotels.

Music, Movies, and Books

Mhmmm hard to tell. I enjoy almost every kind of music, movie or book. I love reading, the last book I’ve finished was a German crime story... not the most inspiring haha but it was a fun and light read. I enjoy reading used books, they’re the only souvenirs I buy for myself when I’m traveling. I just love the smell and the way the paper feels when you turn a page, nothing could ever replace that feeling. I also enjoy reading the work of different philosophers, the last one was Derek Parfit and his famous work ‘On what matters’. :)
I listen to almost every music genre but I think my favs are older bands and artists like David Bowie, Greenday, Nirvana or older American songs. I think that’s because I love vinyl records and most of the time I end up listening to the records my parents already listened to. The music simply feels more real. I enjoy listening to songs where you can feel how much effort and passion the artist put into it, I guess that’s why the charts aren’t really my thing. Other than that I also enjoy more chill music like Bon Iver, Caamp or Eddie Vedder.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Too many to name only one, but traveling through West-Africa by car and sharing my food with complete strangers while sitting next to the streets of Hanoi are definitely two of my highlights! And I also loved the two months of backpacking alone from Alaska down to Cuba (did that after I read the book “into the wild” and felt somewhat inspired).
I think just traveling in general is already amazing, no matter where your path may lead you to, it’s always an unforgettable experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share travel stories, long laughs, deep conversations and for the brave ones: riding lessons on a pretty tall horse if you ever happen to visit me :D
