Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I tell my friends and colleagues about this wonderful project. Many of them have joined CS community thanks to me :)

I joined CS quite a while ago, so now it feels like I'm new here: new interface, new options... Hopefully the old values are still there! I think that especially now, with the current political situation, learning to respect people around you, being more open to the world is very important.

Interests

I love discovering new places and visiting the ones I already know and love. Tiny bookstores , nice coffeeshops, interesting people to talk to.

My big concern is ecological situation in the world and in my country, so I participate in volunteer recycling "Tochka sbora" in St. Petersburg, Russia and I'd love to hear more about "green" living if you have some ideas of your own.

Learning and teaching languages is something I love, I find it fascinating how you are this new person when you speak a foreign language - English-me and Spanish-me are really not the same at all, and both are different from Russian-me. For that reason I'd love to learn Finnish some day (I also just like the way it sounds).

My current guilty pleasure are shows and Youtube videos about decluttering and organising. Sorting things out and keeping stuff in order really excites me, so if you have an attic you've been dreading to sort out, feel free to ask me to do it for you, it won't be a chore, but a pleasure :)

Music, Movies, and Books

There are so many to name... Ray Bradbury. Joseph Brodsky. Mikhail Bulgakov. Dorothy Parker. Josephine Tey. Dostoevsky. Mysteries. Fantasy books.
There are many, many more - I don't think you can really name "your favourite book", it all depends on where you are in life in that particular moment. I like both"serious" and "silly" literature, the same goes for movies.

Teach, Learn, Share

Hmmm... Quite a few things. I can...
1) teach you to sing the famous "Kalinka" song. And yes, it has many more words than you thought it did!
2) show you all the best coffee places in the centre of St.Petersburg.
3) and so much more. Just ask!

I don't host at the moment, but I'll be happy to tell you about my city, show my favourite places and in general provide you with some useful tips for exploring St. Petersburg.
