About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I want to discover new places in a different way: through the people who live their lives there.
ABOUT ME
Like everyone here, I love travelling! In each place I visit, my mind widens a little bit, understanding more about this world and the people living in it, at the same time that I learn something new about me!
I am currently a PhD student in Microsystems Engineering (we make tiny tiny machines which make our lives easier and which are right now living inside your cellphone) and a photography enthusiast. You can have a look at a couple of pictures which arose from the last trips: http://500px.com/svilches
I consider myself a respectful person, open minded in almost any way, organized and thankful.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
After travelling through many cities through the world, I've realized that you can't discover a place without discovering their citizens. That's why I like to learn about new places by meeting the people who live there.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first experience as a CS traveler was in Chicago in April 2013. I had such a great time there (and they were such great hosts!) that I repeated twice.
Since I returned home in summer 2013, I've hosted friends and random people from all around the world: Australia, USA, Brazil, Germany, Russia... and some of them are repeating!
Interests
Photography, music, philosophy, having a good cup of coffee, travelling anywhere by bike, contemporary and urban art, good beer, science (I lovehate electronics, physics and astronomy...)

Music, Movies, and Books
About music... a weird variety of old-school rock, 80's , alternative and some dubstep.
Movies: I like movies which open a conversation with your friends once you get out of the theatre.
Books: Once I was a bestseller reader, but lately I moved to classics (Last book: Brave new world, by Huxley)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Feeling that I was completely lost each time I've gone to a mountain, and then getting home safe. Not really amazing, but a nice dose of adrenaline!
