About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To do what I do because I like to do.

ABOUT ME

Right now I am a study abroad student in Caen, France and I'm trying to get in as much travelling as my studies and budget will allow.
I generally am a ball of energy, and if someone proposes some sort of adventure, I am almost always ready to go! I find nothing more fulfilling than meeting people and sharing our life experiences together; I feel like I have a lot to say, but am equally interested in where your life has taken you. It took me a while and a lot of experiences to realize that I get the most satisfaction out of making others happy and interacting with people on a daily basis.

PHILOSOPHY

Something about not seeing the cup as half full or half empty, but drinking from and enjoying what's in it instead.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well for the time being, I am traveling, but I do return to the United States in January. Once I have moved and settled into my new home, I am very interested in opening my doors to fellow CSers! (So long as my roommate permits, of course.)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have not had one yet, but I can't wait!

Interests

I love adventuring and meeting strangers and hearing about their lives and sharing mine (I also hate talking about myself in first person). Living in France has really inspired me to get more creative, especially on my return home. I love to cook for and entertain people and enjoy company, and I'm looking forward to getting back into playing some music also! During the summer, we go exploring as often as possible, ride bikes, go swimming, and music festivals are a huge part of our area of expertise. I love driving my car, listening to music, and getting sheer joy out of life and the connections we make.
Oh and I love to be dance and be generally silly, of course.

Music, Movies, and Books

Documentaries are my favorite, but I usually fall asleep during a lot of movies nowadays.
Some favorites are Everything is Illuminated, Howl's Moving Castle, The Men Who Stare at Goats, and Fantastic Mister Fox.
But my friends and I function on music. We make it, we listen to it, and we explore it in any way we can. Every genre has its gems.
Hip-hop, trip hop, house, world, ska, punk, folk, thrash, psychedelic, funk, classical, let's do it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The happiest I have ever felt was laying in the grass under the stars on Mulberry Mountain listening to My Morning Jacket and seeing people interact in their most welcoming form.

Caen in itself has been a lifechanging experience, not only because of the sights I've seen but the look I've had into a society so different from what I'm used to, and has left me with an immense desire to travel the world and meet everyone I can.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can always impart a little poi knowledge, am a master of DDR, like to think of our circle of friends as music librarians, and make great breakfast foods (American breakfast foods, at least), oh and southern food, y'all. And I love to learn, so if there's something you're interested in that I don't know about, let's figure it out!
