About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live in California!! Preferably San Fran but it's looking like San Diego will be my first stop from Ohio.

ABOUT ME

My friends consider me a free spirit. Their "hippie" friend. I'm super independent and not satisfied sitting still for very long. I enjoy meeting "weird" people, those unconventional and passionately different from the norm. I haven't seen hardly any that the world has to offer and am very anxious to start my journey. I think I'm pretty down to earth, I think I'm I have learned a lot about myself in the past 6 months and this is just the beginning. I've lived in San Diego for almost 3 years and feel like I'm in the place I'm supposed to be in. Living here has taught me so much about myself and been a source of growth and self discovery. I haven't traveled as much as I'd like to but through couch surfing I'd love to see more of the world and meet really interesting people. I've learned more through being open to the people I meet and what I can learn from them! I'm hoping to not just find a place to sleep through this site but to make some great connections and have some amazing experiences!

PHILOSOPHY

I've learned to be open to new people and experiences but also learned that you have to depend on yourself and not always others. My close friend Jenny once said, Sometimes we depend on others so much we forget how to rely on ourselves.

Interests

I love to bike through the city, drink craft beer, be outdoors. I spend a lot of my time in parks with my dog reading or writing in my journal or in coffee shops. I love the culture of coffee shops. I'm interested in design, particularly architecture and interior design. I was going to a community college but realized that I could learn more from the people I was meeting, people that I admire and have careers that I aspire to. I've decided to educate myself and go the route of apprenticeship learning to reupholster and other useful skills associated with design. I love mid century design and most music, art, movements, furniture, fashion from this era. I used to ride a scooter and would like to be on a motorcycle someday. I have a couple of tattoos and love the artistic, roadmaps of people's lives through tattoos. Did I mention I love my pup and dogs in general! I appreciate the simple things in life like a gorgeous day, an amazing view, walking through my neighborhood admiring the architecture, climbing trees. I'm not the greatest at explaining who I am on these things so send me a message! Ask me anything! I'm an open book!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sometimes moments in my life make me think, "Wow, there are really amazing, good people in this world" I work at a neighborhood coffee shop called Krakatoa. A place where progressive, health minded people in the neighborhood frequent. Where most people know one another. I left my bike there overnight and the next morning someone obviously tried to steal it since the chain was off and the tire was taken off. Some nice couple saw me struggling and not only gave me a ride home but offered to fix my bike up a bit for me and drop it off to me later for no charge! Two hours later I had a tuned up bike by a nice stranger! Out of the kindness of his heart, this guy I met at my coffee shop helped me! A small act of kindness but it meant a lot! I've recently opened up my perspective to the people I meet in my day to day life and have had extraordinary conversations with neighbors I made an effort to get to know, artists passionately doing their thing on street corners, and other genuine artistic types. When you open your heart and mind, wonderful things happen!
