About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To help out the weary and lonesome traveler and show off some cool places along the way. That way, someone might do the same for me when I'm on the road.
ABOUT ME
I find it a little difficult to talk about myself on these kinds of venues but I do appreciate this wonderful idea. Two of my biggest passions are travel and creating positive change in all types of ways. I believe I can do both things at once through couchsurfing whether I am hosting or surfing.I am a very social, open minded person who loves good discussion and new experiences. I realize that there has never been an easier time to travel to far off places, meet interesting people, witness different customs and cultures than my own in the hopes to broaden my own personal wisdom.
PHILOSOPHY
I try to keep it real. In short, treat people the way that I appreciate being treated. Life is short. Make it a great one.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Hosting, surfing and activities... all the above. I currently live in a small town outside of Taichung, Taiwan. I have a house with a spare bedroom. What better way to utilize that space than hosting couchsurfers? Message me if you'd like to the Taiwanese countryside. I'll try to get back to you as soon as possible. I host whenever I possibly can in the hope that when I am on the road myself somebody let me crash on their couch.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am pretty new to couchsurfing so I am both excited to host and to surf.
Interests
I am trying to really focus on learning to play the guitar. Any musician knows that this is no easy task. I also enjoy gardening, hiking, traveling (obviously), biking, scooter rides, film and books that teach me something. I also enjoy having a drink with good friends. I have a passionate interest in solutions to man living in harmony with the natural world..... It's the only one we've got!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I believe that in every music genre, you are bound to find some really great music... except metal. Sorry metal fans, I just can't do it. ha.Movies: I love film. I almost studied it in college. I guess my interest in it comes from love of story telling and being told good stories. Too many to mention so for the next 30 seconds I will just write the favorites that come to mind: Star Wars, Citizen Kane, Godfather, The Night of the Hunter, Sunset Boulevard, Lord of the Rings, Fight Club, Aliens, Pulp Fiction and many more....Books: I try to be an avid reader. I love reading history and non-fiction as well as fiction. You gotta mix it up. The last few books I read was Deep Economy by Bill McKibben, Confessions of an Economic Hitman by John Perkins, Catch 22 by Joseph Heller, Tropic of Capricorn, Tropic of Cancer by Henry Miller and Notes of a Dirty Old Man by Charles Bukowski. My current book is A People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My brother and I kayaking through a National park in Thailand. So freaking beautiful. Organizing a Wilderness conference with best friends to create public awareness within the community about the value and need to designate more wilderness areas near my home town.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know a fair amount of History, gardening as well as the tiniest amount (but growing!) of knowledge about music. I am always interested in learning new life skills.
