About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Celebrate each day!

ABOUT ME

I am 26 years old and I love to travel. I am extremely close with my family and I would do anything for them. I have dual citizenship in the US and EU, but haven't really used my EU passport yet. Traveling is more than a pleasure, it's a passion in my life. I lived in France for a year after college and have moved around the US since then.

I was planning on moving to South America and then was offered a job in DC. The opportunity was too incredible to pass up, so I just moved to DC and I am re-orienting myself with the city. I am completely passionate about my work and I celebrate each day for all the blessings I receive. When you work with children who are dying and still maintain a joyous outlook on life, it makes you appreciate that every moment is precious. I am so grateful to have been asked to work for the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation.

PHILOSOPHY

These are three main quotes that I base my life around:
"Live the life you've imagined."
"When you look for the good in others, you discover the best in yourself."
"A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to the CS2 project and don't know much about this network...other than it seems like an amazing way to connect with like-minded people all over the world and share a laugh or a drink! I am looking forward to doing just that!

Interests

I'm easy-going and try to keep a positive outlook on life. I love traveling, salsa dancing, experiencing new cultures, laughing until I cry, playing sports, being in nature, reading, writing, singing in the car where I can belt out songs, eating delicious food, spending time with my close family and friends, meeting new people all over the world, having "ah-hah" moments when I realize how small the world really is, watching a good movie, sitting by a fire on a cold day, working with youth, exploring different cultures, speaking new languages, and just enjoying each day to the fullest.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am part of the startup for an amazing non-profit organization called Friends of Jaclyn. It improves the quality of life for children with pediatric brain tumors and their families by creating lasting relationships based on love, support, and friendship with athletic teams. Check it out at www.friendsofjaclyn.org. If you know a child or a family that is suffering from this terrible disease or a team in need, please feel free to contact me and I can explain more about this wonderful process.
