About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Wander & Explore. Absorb & Learn.

ABOUT ME

I would describe myself as open-minded, outgoing, and sociable. I like to try new things, go to new places, absorb the local culture while traveling, and meet new people.

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live. Be open to others and their way of thinking. Collect experiences, good or bad, and learn from them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have traveled with surfers and taken them around Chicago to various events and bars. I have also been hosted by a surfer in Washington, DC. Fun times indeed. Hope to find more surfers and get to know more people!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love the HBO Series, the Wire. I enjoy thrillers and dramas in general.

I switch musical genres every now and then, and have listened to Nepali folk/folk rock, Indian classical, classic rock, grunge, metal, progressive metal, underground conscious rap, and reggae.

As for reading, it's mostly news and sometimes short stories. I love short stories, some of which have awestruck me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once when I was a kid, I was travelling with my mom and little sister on a bus in the mountains of Northern Nepal. The roads were really hilly and several times involved going down one mountain, crossing a stream that is barely fordable, and going up another mountain right after, with the bus in overcapacity and hardly gathering momentum after crossing the stream. On one occasion, the bus couldn't go up the mountain and started rolling backwards in the middle of the slope because the engine was not strong enough. It scared the shit out of me, my sister, and my mom, as my sister and I started crying, although my mom was putting up a brave face at the time to calm us down. We got off the bus to walk to the top of the mountain and only then joined the rest of the passengers on the bus. The worst part of this experience was that I knew of a similar accident in the same month prior to this when over 20 people died because the bus rolled backwards and fell from a cliff. That was on the back of my mind the whole time. I will never forget this experience. Phew.
