About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To fill the world with music and candy.

ABOUT ME

I want to do pretty much everything, and sometimes that gets me into trouble because I end up way over extended in my commitments. Right now I run a couple (very tiny) businesses - one makes a really awesome remedy for sunburns and bug bites, and the other makes gourmet marshmallows.

But mostly, I just want to travel, climb on rocks, and play music.

PHILOSOPHY

We live in a very goal-oriented society, and I think that often stops us from enjoying everything along the way. I'm just trying to enjoy the opportunities of each new day.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only surfed a couple times, but both experiences were great. My roommates and I also hosted a number of CSers when I lived in St. Louis - all great people that we loved showing around the city.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - Jamestown Revival, Passion Pit, Dizzy Gillespie, Louis Armstrong, Bonobo, Quantic, Andrew Bird, Bela Fleck, Sly Stone, Doc Watson, James Brown, among many others.

Movies - Oh Bill Murray...

Books - I spend a lot of time reading pop-science books like The Tipping Point and Made to Stick. Kurt Vonnegut is pretty great. Just finished reading a great book about minimalism called Everything That Remains - recommend!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once got to play my trumpet on the Great Wall of China with a brass ensemble. We stood in an ancient turret and played the Olympics theme song.

Teach, Learn, Share

Happy to teach you a little guitar or how to make gourmet marshmallows!

Really want to learn how to surf.
