ABOUT ME

I'm a girl from the western suburbs of Chicago, now living in the city of Chicago! I work as a web and graphic designer and live with my two roommates on the west side of the city. I love to travel and would do it more if I could.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I got involved with Couch Surfing when I was planning my backpacking trip in Europe. It looked like such a cool idea and ended up being one of the best parts of my trip. I'm hoping to be able to return the favor and let people stay on my couch soon.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I went backpacking around Europe in 2011 and couch surfed in a couple of countries. I absolutely loved the experience and meeting new people. It was extremely helpful and fun to have someone show us around and share their culture. The people we stayed with were so generous of their time and accommodations, it was unreal. I've also hosted people in Chicago and loved showing people around.

Interests

I really enjoy listening to music and almost constantly have something playing. If its danceable music, you know I'll be on the dance floor. I try to stay in shape by either running or boxing. I studied Graphic Design and am interested in visual communications. Chicago is a great city for art with the Art Institute of Chicago and it's amazing architecture. Traveling is a passion of mine and I would travel more if I could. I love meeting new people and learning their story. Photography is also a hobby of mine and I tend to get carried away when I carry it with me. I'm a huge Chicago Cubs fan and always enjoy going to the games when I can.

Music, Movies, and Books

I LIVE for music, I listen to basically anything, all the time. I love to read, currently reading the Game of Thrones, and thoroughly enjoy the classics. (Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings are also my weaknesses) Movies are pretty great too, some of my favorites being Moulin Rouge and Top Gun. I pretty much like all genres except horror because of my sensitivity to the unnatural.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seen: The Eiffel Tower, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Colosseum, the Parthenon, the Pantheon, the Roman Forum, Mozart's birthplace, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Hofbrauhaus, the Swiss Alps, Chateau d'If, Charles Bridge, castles on the Rhine River, the Golden Pavilion in Kyoto, the Vatican (Sistine Chapel), Anne Frank's house, the Louvre, the Alamo, Ground Zero, the Chinese Theater, the Spanish Steps, Duke Gardens, Mirabell Gardens

Done: Skydived in San Diego, ran the original Olympic track in Olympia, sang karaoke in a underground bar in Prague, got up at 5am to go to a fish market in Tokyo, climbed many stairs to stay in a castle in Bacharach, watched fireworks from a boat on Lake Michigan in Chicago, repelled off a cliff and white water rafted in Colorado
