About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See all of Europe while Studying Abroad!

ABOUT ME

I am a student currently studying abroad in the Netherlands. I am doing an internship researching membrane fusion in the body and with similar molecular models. I grew up in a swimming pool and swam competitively through out high school. I also LOVE photography and most outdoor sports. A good hike could cure any bad day for me.

PHILOSOPHY

"If you’re one in a million, then there are six thousand people on earth exactly like you..."

I like existentialist of the happy kind. None of that Camus stuff, I believe in the fact that only YOU can make yourself happy and it is only YOUR responsibility no one else's. Challenges are there to make a person grow emotionally.

Music, Movies, and Books

Miranda July is amazing. Vonnegut is also great. Other books include The Interpreter of Maladies, East of Eden, The Catcher in the Rye, Middlesex, The Metamorphosis, The Fountainhead, Heartbreaking Words of a Staggering Genius, Everything is Illuminated

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking Half Dome in Yosemite National Park. 9,000 feet in 8 miles. Terrible on the legs, but glorious. Second to that is the Galapagos.

Teach, Learn, Share

While studying abroad in the Netherlands, I learned to cook a few things from people in my hall from all different countries, and am always looking to learn new dishes.

"The real voyage of discovery does not consist in
seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes"
- Marcel Proust

I also love hearing stories from different cultures and learning how to see things through a different "lens" so to speak, to not judge other cultures from the beliefs of my upbringing. I strongly believe this is an important experience and skill to learn, and that it is mutual.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Canada, Ecuador, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Monaco, Morocco, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Netherlands, United States
