About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travelling and dancing my way around the world.

ABOUT ME

I'm a very friendly, easy-going, but considerate person. Good to talk to, enthusiastic about trying new things, and with many a travel tale to tell. I am passionate about dancing and travelling and meeting new people, especially the locals in any given town. My friends would probably say I travel a lot, but keep coming back, too.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is short. Live, love and share your life with others as much as you can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Mainly when I travel, but I've hosted many people also over the years.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been hosted by fabulous people in Australia, New Zealand, the US, France, and Sweden. I've hosted people in Australia, France, the UK and in the US. My favourites experiences have been when I am introduced to local delicacies or customs. In Austin, I went to see chicken shit bingo. That was quite an experience!

Interests

I love learning about culture and languages. I prefer to stay with friends than stay at hotels or hostels. I gather friends around the world and it's the best thing ever. :)
Work-wise, I am a user experience designer and so I'm passionate about the world around me being logical, intuitive, but still beautiful.

Music, Movies, and Books

Yes, I love watching them, listening to many styles and my reading list is getting a little unmanageable these days. Too many interests to list here, but I welcome recommendations of any of these categories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Standing at the top of Mount Vesuvius in Italy, listening to the wind in my ears, a giant volcanic crater behind me, nothing but clouds and sky in front of me.

Hanging out at a dance camp in Sweden, which felt more like living in a musical than real life. People from 20-odd countries all talking, living, learning, dancing, working together. Music plays 24/7, and people dance in the streets. Absolutely phenomenal.

Teach, Learn, Share

I dance swing and blues dancing, and teach both. I've taught English in the past, and am always happy to share thoughts and expertise about usability of user interfaces.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to bake! Let me bake for you. :)
