About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Three countries, two months, one carry-on, and zero experience.

ABOUT ME

I am going abroad this summer for two months with just a backpack and that terrifies me...so I must be doing something right.

Before I could buy alcohol, when I attended BYOB parties (Bring Your Own Booze) I learned to bake bread so I could still BYOB. I bake a simple four ingredient french bread. It takes FOREVER to make but sometimes that slow pace is just what I need.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At school for the last 6 months my apartment hosted a number of awesome couchsurfers (look them up in my friends, THREEELEVEN). It felt like Forrest Gump's house at times. I had such a great time that I resolved to try the system in reverse and surf couches this summer in Europe.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Nothing beats standing in Guitar Center next to a wall of swaying multi-thousand dollar guitars during a Los Angeles earthquake with Max.

Or waiting at a bus stop for 30 minutes with couchsurfers en route to Santa Monica, and then FINALLY realizing the bus skips that stop during the weekdays after assuring them that "it will come."

Interests

I am all about trying new food, I prefer street food to stuffy dining experiences. In Mexico, go to restaurants that don't cater to English tourists and if a cockroach scurries across the floor, all the better.

Cooking food from scratch is a passion that I wish to learn more about. I have tried my hand with a few dishes but I'm nothing special. But even when I burn it, I feel like I've learned something new. Cooking together doesn't have to be a chore. It is my entertainment, hands-on learning, and a great way to bring people together. Nothing is more fun than a crowded kitchen of friends building a meal.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Standing up and folding balloon hats for hordes of Chinese students for three hours straight. Have plenty of red balloons, they LOVE them.

Fist-pumped like a Jersey Shore guido for three hours straight during a dance marathon.

Teach, Learn, Share

Having played ultimate frisbee for two years, I love to throw the frisbee around. I'll teach you to throw a flick.
