About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Get back into the Couchsurfing groove. I took a YEARS-long hiatus, but now I'm back! I live in Taiwan now and just finished a 9-month Chinese language program.

ABOUT ME

I'm a procrastinator but I hate waiting. I like cheesy jokes. I want to see and do as much as I can during my short life and the fact that there's not a whole lot of time scares me. If I don't feel comfortable with a person right away I can be a bit reserved - but that being said, I tend to like everyone I meet! :D

PHILOSOPHY

Dude, just be nice.
"If you're bored then you're boring" Harvey Danger
With souls made of flames, we're all just stars with people names.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I try to be a part of the online community since I don't host surfers very often. Let me know if you need a sightseeing, music, and/or drinking buddy!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfing was a great way to meet up with fellow travelers in Istanbul, I got to hang out with some really awesome and interesting people. I was an Au Pair at the time and on my day off it was nice to socialize with other people (who weren't 5 years old) and go places I wouldn't normally think to go.

Interests

Yoga is a huge part of my life - recently I've been teaching regularly on the beach in Taiwan and I love making my class accessible for all levels and people. I'm trying to be more creative with my yoga flows now that I've had more experience. I especially love old books from used book stores, and how they smell, EATING FOOD, watching cosy live music shows of almost any genre (there's just something about seeing a musician perform that's captivating), being up front seeing an epic band, meeting new people, daydreaming, unique jewelry, bright colors. I absolutely love trying craft beers and local beers! Same goes for coffee - I worked as a barista and love to learn about hand pours and roasting. I like walking around little art galleries by myself.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music that's spunky and fun, slow and soulful, or makes me nostalgic (like 90's). Zombie movies! Anything Wes Anderson or Tarantino touch. Travel novels and the classics. I'm also a huge nerd and love reading about black holes and the microbiome.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My friends and I camped outside the Namib-Naukluft National Park in Namibia and I saw the most incredible night sky. Attempted to sleep through strong winds, my tent whapping me in the face all night, woke before the crack of dawn, then climbed the red sand dunes of Sossusvlei. The most amazing scenery I've ever seen in my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a 200-hour yoga teaching certification and frequently teach in parks and on the beach - let's do some sun salutations together! I have two years of ESL teaching experience, so I'd be happy to answer any English language questions you might have :) I can make a face with my fingers. I may or may not have some awesome dance moves.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Enthusiasm for new places (I'm a yes-girl!) and help tidying up your space. I'm also happy to help you with your yoga practice ~ I love love love yoga
