About Me

I never know how to describe myself in these things. I'm a PhD student, who grew up in Australia, though I was born in China. I'm currently on a scholarship that has allowed me to spend a year or so abroad (8 months in Groningen, the Netherlands, 4 months in Oxford, and soon 2 months in Santiago, Chile). So far, it has been really really wonderful.

I usually aim to do and see amazing things, and to have adventures. I read a lot. I like to draw. I like to think. I sometimes imagine that giant clouds on the horizon are actually mountains, and wonder how it would be to climb them. I like cooking strange and delicious foods.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think couchsurfing is grand
On exchange in the USA, I met three British & Canadian people in Portland and met up with them again in Vancouver BC to crash on their couch for the week. I've also spent a few days couchsurfing in Berlin.

Interests

I like trying new things. I am interested in, and will be happy to talk about social science, politics, philosophy, psychology, fiction, film, and probably many more things that I can't think of right now.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It's too hard to pick one, but I'm sure everyone has this problem. I met a Living Buddha in China, in a temple about 4000m above sea level - that was pretty incredible.
