About Me

I'm a Third-Culture Kid country-hopper who loves the luggage life. I've lived in three different countries on three different continents and I think people, even those who think they lead mundane lives, have so much to share and offer to strangers, even those who meet for a fleeting moment.

I'm imaginative, adaptable, and empathetic. I don't snore, I eat a lot, and over the course of the past five years my cleaning-after-myself skills have improved radically.

My goal is to live in this world hurting as little as possible, and hurting others as little as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing to...

to be a stranger to someone
to have/give a safe and warm place to crash
to sleep on as many sofas (or spare beds) as possible
to see and do things I've never seen or done before
to meet as many new souls as possible
to share my passion with others
to add meaning to my travels

Music, Movies, and Books

Currently on a synthpop bender; the more pulse-like the synth, the better. My fave singers are Allie X, Halsey, Wet, and Hozier, to name a few. I also won't say no to Bachata songs (currently on a Romeo Santos bender).

Too many books to love--a sampling: Fahrenheit 451, The Jungle, Boy & Going Solo, and The Woman Warrior.

My movie tastes are a little all over the place but imo they're noteworthy ones to me: On The Waterfront, The Fall, The Shape of Water, and How to Train Your Dragon.

My favorite TVs are all no-brainers jeez I love these so much: Battlestar Galactica (2003 RDM), Star Trek: The Next Generation, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Steven Universe.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been within the Arctic Circle and have swum in the Arctic Ocean (brrrr!)

Teach, Learn, Share

Wanna learn how to dance the Cha-Cha? How to say the alphabet backwards? Write a sonnet (Petrarchan or Elizabethan)? Say "excuse me, where is the bathroom?" in Japanese? Hear stories about huge spiders? Learn how to perform CPR to different songs? Just have a fun and cool conversation?

I'm your gal!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Bad limericks, slightly better poetry readings, a bevy of travel experiences, new insights and memories, a friend from far away, bomb chocolate cream pie, someone to have interesting conversations with, book recommendations, dance exercises to give you stronger feet, aaaaand something new and interesting for your day.

Who knows, you may even appear in my writing one day!

"Stop this day and night with me and you shall possess the origin of all poems,
You shall possess the good of the earth and sun.... there are millions of suns left,
You shall no longer take things at second or third hand.... nor look through the eyes of the dead, nor feed on the spectres in books,
You shall not look through my eyes either, nor take things from me,
You shall listen to all sides and filter them from yourself."

-Walt Whitman (from Leaves of Grass)
