Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live deep and suck out all the marrow of life.
ABOUT ME
I hold travel in high regard. More than just an escape from the drudgery and responsibilities of work life, I continue to see travel as an extension of my zeal for learning.
PHILOSOPHY
The more you know, the less you need. It is so easy to make life more complex. It is the hardest thing in the world to simplify your life. In other words, to not over consume. It is important to lead an examined life and reduce unintentional damage to people and our planet.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
CS has been a transformative experience. More and more, it is not the places where I travel, but the people I have come to most enjoy.
Afterall, a stranger's just a friend you haven't met!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I grew up in Oakland, CA. Right now I am living in Los Altos, CA. At home, I am happy to host and take my surfers to local CS events - atmospheres of infinite friendliness in the San Francisco Bay Area. CSers are some of the most active and interesting people I have met. I continue to be amazed.
I have learned CS is like many other things in life - the more energy you put in the more you get in return.
Interests
Traveling to new places - because every time I do, I learn something new and hopefully get to be a better person. A well cooked meal in a cozy home with some wine and stories - because I love the murmur of new and old friends in the evening.
Basking in the warm morning sun and white glaze of the mountains dwelling in my tent, threading the valleys or crossing the plains or climbing the mountains in a world all to myself because I am lucky to live in California so close to some of the most beautiful places to be found.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Adventures that reinvigorate me and challenge me in new ways and renew my strengths - a few of which include pedaling my bicycle across the united states from california to new york on my own and thousands of km around New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Peru and distant horizons elsewhere.
...walking the 180 sublime miles of the Annapurna Circuit trek in Nepal or the 220 miles of the John Muir Trail in the Sierras.
Teach, Learn, Share
Learn the most practical skill of all...how to put on pants without using your hands!
