Coach tickets between UK and Europe often cost a fiver if you book two weeks in advance. If you take apart a pushbike and disguise it by putting it in a big washing bag that costs a couple of pounds, drivers let you put them in the luggage holder as long as you've got not much more. They usually let you have a whole bunch more anyway if there's space but it's good to be careful and not risk having to leave something or you behind.
