Hello!

I am currently a full-time digital nomad and am traveling across Asia as I write my first full-length novel. I have taken a year off work to focus on exploring parts of the world I've never traveled to and fulfilling my biggest dream of getting published. I'll likely be going back to school come Fall 2016 so want to get the most out of this year as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am excited to meet new people and share experiences with them. I am way more interested in local life then doing what every tourist does. Admittedly, I am also trying to live on the cheap!

Interests

Reading (fantasy, sci-fi), hiking / being outside, historical sites and museums, writing, eating good local food, walking around and seeing what comes!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I tend toward alternative music and some classic rock, but generally can enjoy a wide range of music. I almost never turn down listening to live music!

Movies: Pretty much all movies except for maybe hard-core action flicks. Especially enjoy superhero / other nerd movies (like Star Wars) and comedies (even romantic comedies).

Books: Anything by Brandon Sanderson and Patrick Rothfuss are a go for me right now. Love old Stephen King (think: The Stand)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I quit my job in May and moved to Indonesia to write a book.

So far I've been to Bali, Lombok, Singapore, and Malaysia on this trip.

I've previously also traveled to Thailand, Bhutan, and Nepal in Asia. Hiking to the top of Tiger's Nest in Bhutan was just about as awesome as it gets! Snorkeling in the Komodo Islands was also pretty fun.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I used to be a management consultant so I can be pretty helpful with strategy, operations, and general problem-solving concepts. I can also help review and think through written communication or creative writing. Happy to also help with English if that's desired.

Learn: Open to learning whatever! Music, dance, some new form of exercise, language, history, art, etc.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I don't have a lot with me, but I do have a great attitude.

I am happy to be whatever type of guest you want. Want to go on adventures? Yeah let's do it! Would rather I just sleep on the couch and spend my days out of your space? No problem! Want someone who can just chillax and do their own thing? Can do that!
