About Me

CURRENT MISSION

'The pursuit and search for the buried treasures of knowledge calls for a unique combination of abilities, for the explorer-excavator must be traveler, detective, and scholar at the same time.It is, perhaps, the most exciting of all intellectual pursuits.'

ABOUT ME

Just wanting to share and learn as much as possible during my short time on this earth. And party like a silly person too :)

PHILOSOPHY

Love people and trust them and you will be rewarded in so many ways

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted lots of people in Mexico and Australia. I've been a guest more so and I always aim to be a conscious and grateful guest. Always happy to make meals, share stories and ideas and just generally have a jolly good time. I love people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As above. It's brilliant.

Interests

I am a very easily persuaded person and thus, can form an interest in most things. However, top of the list would have to be music, film, travel, permaculture, books, yoga, cooking (well, eating really), comics/bandes-déssinées, history, skiing, bike-riding, swimming, kayaking, and generally making a fool of myself

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Anything by Pedro Almòdovar, Wong Kar-Wai, Stanley Kubrik, Alejandro Gonzàles Iñàrritu, Ingmar Bergmann, Julian Schnabel, Quentin Tarantino, Michael Haneke, Alfred Hitchcock, the Cohen Brothers, Ang Lee

Books: Mariel Barbery, Marie Cardinal, Nam Le, Hermann Hesse, Ha Jin, John Steinbeck, Fitzgerald, Oscar Wilde, Salman Rushdie (I know I won't strike many chords there), Gabriel García Márquez (nor there)

However, I am tending to prefer non-fiction these days - Thomas De Quincey, history, philosophy, culture, graphic novels. If i'm feeling lazy, I'll look at a picture book. Highly recommend 'The Gruffalo'

Music: Electro, House, Blues, Soul, some folk too... Anything with good beats and vocals, preferably fun samples too

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sleeping in a Bedouin cave in Jordan

Teach, Learn, Share

I am willing to share anything I have that you deem worthwhile.

I would like to learn how to: cook lots of different cuisines, speak many varying languages, be an ace card-player, draw, make my own clothes, have my own sustainable farm (one day!)

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Cuba, Egypt, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Jordan, Laos, Lebanon, Mexico, Myanmar, New Caledonia, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Syrian Arab Republic, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, France, Mexico
