Hello! I'm Sydney and I'm from Ottawa, Canada, living in Utrecht, Netherlands on an exchange year as an au pair. I'm lucky to have the opportunity this year to live with a very nice Dutch/French family with three children. I take care of a 8 and 6 year old, and a baby, so safe to say my hands are definitely full!

I graduated this past spring from my undergrad degree in History and Political Science from StFX University in the east coast of Canada, and I decided that before I settle down into a Masters degree or career, I should see a bit more of the world.

That brings me to this website! My goal for this year (when I'm not in Utrecht taking care of little kids) is to travel within Europe as much as possible, as well as meet many new people from around the world! While I'm busy with the kids during the week, I take every opportunity on my free weekends and holidays to travel

As my university degree would suggest, I love history and politics (which makes Europe a great place to live and travel). Aside from English, I also speak French quite well, and I'm also learning Dutch this year. I also really like ice hockey, rugby, skiing, and spending time outdoors.
