About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To educate the young and travel as much as possible

ABOUT ME

I'm fairly uncomplicated. I like anything that makes you think. I like to start conversations that have no end. I love my family and always have a great time with them. I have great friends all over the planet and would love to visit all of them where they live. Five things I couldn't live without: books, the internet, a hot shower (a hot bath will do if the shower isn't available), good food, and people to share my adventures with.

I've had an itch to travel for years now and finally decided to scratch it. I hope to make a lot of new travel friends and have some great stories to tell when I return home. I don't have a life motto but if I did it would probably be along the lines of: It's about the experience so if it didn't go the way you planned, that's okay, It wasn't meant to be.

I'm on all the things, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, and Pinterest. Look for me, I'm a cool person to know.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is too short to regret the opportunities you did not take. Also, things that seem impossible usually are not but it takes doing them for us to figure that out. Jesus is my homeboy but rarely do people really show his love to those around them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently, I am looking to stay with locals in the places I want to travel. When I get my own place, I would love to host people from around the world in my hometown. Dallas is a great place to visit. I can't currently house you but I would love to take you on a tour of my city if you come through.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only had a few CS experiences, all good.

Interests

Photography, traveling, food, beer, ART, books, writing, filmmaking, conversing with strangers or friends, making thinks with my hands, seeing the world with my own eyes, history, arcane facts of any subject.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Blazing Saddles, Back to the Future Trilogy, Star Wars, Star Trek, Amelie, Pride & Prejudice, Network, 12 Angry Men, Galaxy Quest, Casablanca, Ben-Hur, Paprika, Princess Bride.
Music: OneRepublic, The killers, Jill Scott, Lauryn Hill, The Sound of Arrows, Niki & the Dove, Walk The Moon, Allen Stone, Melanie Fiona, N'Sync, Michael and Janet Jackson, Luther Vandross, Tracy Chapman, NEEDTOBREATHE, Florence & The Machine, Justice, Gotye, Major Lazer, The Fray, Bastille, Jill Scott, Daft Punk, and a lot more. A LOT.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to the 2008 Presidential Inauguration of Barack Obama. It was an amazing, and very, very cold, experience I am very glad I had. I have never felt more like one race than I did on that day in Washington, D.C.

Teach, Learn, Share

I recently earned a Master Degree in New Media studies and would LOVE to talk about how technology impacts the way we communicate. Like why ebooks have page numbers if they don't have pages. Also, I would like to earn a PhD in the somewhat near future that discusses the intersection of race, sex, technology, and privileges.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm curious about a lot of things so I like to converse. I find the best way to learn something is to listen to others. Also I'm neat and aware you're sharing your space with someone. I promise to respect your home.

Countries I’ve Visited
