About Me
Hi there, my name is Sylvain, I love life in general and more specifically outdoor sport, (good) beers, playing chess and working out 💪🍺
I was born in France 26 years ago and I am now doing an internship in Lyon as a consultant in the agricultural transition.
This year, I undertook the challenge of visiting a bunch of countries in Europe with the company of Giada, a lovely italian girl I met in Portugal last summer and who became my girlfriend.
Next country on the programme : Slovenia, where we expect to hike, camp, maybe meet some bears, visit some caves and taste delicious wine and honey. Also it would be a nice thing to meet some locals to discover a bit more the slovenian culture 🙃
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on couchsurfing because I believe that it could be a good way to meet people who are worth to be met ! I'm very sociable, open-minded, easy-going, and have a lot of things to share and learn. CS therefore is an outstanding platform for that.

Teach, Learn, Share
I am really eager to learn from everything so it's hard to make a list of all my interest, but let's try it eh!
First of all I love authentic experience, that is why when I travel I try to escape as much as i can touristic places, preferring meeting the locals and finding the hidden landscape gems. I also like genuine items that wear history on them and love cloth that has been designed to last a life time or even beyond. That is why I am almost only wearing second hand clothes and love to spend time in Thrift shop and flea market.
For the rest I like activities to do in the open sky, hiking, biking, both on the trails and on the road, hitch-hiking, or working out outside when I cannot move. I use to say that, a healthy mind need a healthy body, that is why I dedicate so much space in my life to sports and working out.
When I'm locked inside I like to kill time by reading a good books, playing chess or boardgames, or preparing my next adventure. But don't be fooled, no one being perfect, I also spend a good amount of time just binge watching Netflix or not doing anything at all.
Being french and vegetarian, I also obviously love good cuisine and often describe food as one of the main ingredients of happiness, alongside with tasty and hoppy beers, love, friendship and good physical condition.
Then depending on the stage of my life I can have many others hobbies. So far life has led me to be interested in learning guitar, kickboxing, art graffiti, gardening, farming, dancing rock, bacchata (even tho I'm still lame at that), playing drama etc etc...
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook and if I have some with me, I would love to share with you some of the beers I homebrew. For the rest, I am a good talker who begin to have a good collection of travel stories, but also a good listener who ask nothing else but to hear what you have to share.
I can talk for hours about very various topics ranging from the brewing process, the role of agriculture in society, sustainable transition management or about this amazing art of food, cooking and dietetics.
