Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
live life to the fullest! Eat, learn, dream, explore, bike!
ABOUT ME
I was homeschooled until Grade 5. My mother spoke to myself and my brother in French and German, and when we went to school we did French Immersion.
I moved to Ottawa in 2005 to do a degree in business, but soon switched to general arts and then translation. I have worked in the field of Translation for five years and am now applying for a higher-level job.
I love to be active. I bicycle commute year-round, as does my boyfriend. I snowboard as often as possible, and I also jog. Last summer I participated in three short-distance triathlons. I would like to do an olympic distance triathlon this summer and maybe a half marathon!
I believe in a safe cycling community and harmony between bikes & cars (though I personally believe most ppl should get out of their cars and onto a bicycle!) I am a member of the City of Ottawa Roads & Cycling committee, and the Ottawa bicycle club.
I love playing board games. My favorite is carcasonne but I also like Settlers of Catan.
I believe in quakerism. I believe that everyone has a right to their own beliefs and there is no right or wrong.
I love grilled cheese & perogies.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is good. When god throws you a lemon, make lemonade.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Je serais heureuse d'acceuilleur des francophones! Also by hosting and visiting people who are active members of their community or just active!
I prefer to host people who have hosted others before they start asking to be hosted. I think you should give to the community before taking from it
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I learned of couchsurfing from my former roommate. I hosted my first surfer this summer, and have participated in a few Ottawa CS events. I feel very fortunate to live in a place where we have an active CS community.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Snowboarding in Whistler on Canada day, followed by floating in a lake on an inflatable raft with friends, on the same day. Looking up at the snow-tipped mountains from the lake. The cops busting everyone on the beech for drinking, and us laughing about the people who ran into the water. Singing o-canada with the people who were floating in the other rafts. Cheap, good, clean fun.
Mountain biking in Vegas (and not gambling!)
