About Me

CURRENT MISSION

share the pleasure of travelling while at home and abroad, meeting new people and make them discover our area.

ABOUT ME

I like meeting people, I like clear and definite things and I say what I think !
I speak fluent English, basic Italian and Spanish .

PHILOSOPHY

We are simple people who enjoy the company of friends and family and nature lovers.Everywhere we travel we try to escape from cities to discover countrylife.Sometimes it is difficult as we alawys use public transport).
We are not "trendy" people : neither in our home(which is not equipped at the latest fashion)nor our dress!(mostly jeans for both of us...)We are not interested in luxury items or equipments contrary to most people nowadays.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am a mother of three grown ups : 2 daughters (40 and 38) and a son (26).
I have a stepdaughter of 40.All the girls are married and we have 7 grandchildren altoghether.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have for the moment mostly hosted guests, always pleased with my hosts and hoping more!
Only one couchsurfing experience in Thailand but though the host was great, the house too distant from the town and transport cost us more than a night in a hotel ! But we had great evening!

Interests

I am a very active person, I like to travel with my husband , walk, cycle, swim, meet friends and family and read.
I like scuba-diving.

Music, Movies, and Books

We do not go very often to the cinema but enjoy the plays, outings and entertainment of the surrounding associations or village communities.
I listen to pop, rock, French songs , a little jazz.
I love reading (novels, fiction )and am a volunteer at the local library.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My husband and I visited Mexico and found ourselves alone in a chalet in the Valley of cacti!
Conversely on our second visit in the same location, we were unexpectedly surrounded by a party of students in our accommodation and couldn't sleep all night because of the noise! But it was a great meeting .
The sight of Taj Mahal in Agra was just magic...and the contrast with the launderers across the river (seen from The Red Fort) was stunning!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teaching seems a long time ago now!But every time I get the opportunity of showing or explaining something, I am all for it!!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I prefer to host person(s) with a car since my home is 4kms from the city and there is no transport.
However I can offer pick up from the station or the nearby town,
If wished, a short sightseeing drive in the near countryside .
I don't wish to host more than 2 nights. I can host a single person or a couple.

Countries I’ve Visited

Algeria, Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Greece, India, Indonesia, Italy, Kenya, Laos, Malaysia, Mauritius, Mexico, Morocco, Senegal, Spain, Thailand, Tunisia, United Kingdom, United States, Viet Nam
