Über mich
*** Temporarily not accepting guests due to Covid-19 health concerns ***
Well lets see, I'm a pretty care free person... no point in worrying about everything. At the same time though, I tend to be very driven towards my goals... I just don't let them run my life.
I'm a total nerd at heart, so sometimes it shines through and I just have to be goofy. I'll go ahead and apologize for that ahead of time!
I love meeting new people with unique stories and a good sense of humor and I'm usually drawn to anyone who is passionate about what they do. It doesn't matter if you collect stamps or study cancer research, as long as you're passionate about it, I find that intriguing.
I'm a complete sucker for a good conversation. I enjoy laughing at stupid jokes with friends just as much as the next guy, but it is nice to be around people who can carry on a more meaningful conversation too.
Professionally I'm a sales engineer with a large customer base, so I'm on the road quite a bit. Whenever I am in town, I'm usually working from my home office, so I'm available at essentially any time of day to meet with anyone I'm hosting. No point in waiting until 5 or 6pm to get settled if you don't want to.
As for couchsurfing, I joined the project in 2005, but didn't become very active until 2006. At this point, it is awfully safe to say that it has really made an impact me and how I view the rest of the world... I'd like to think that I'm a lot more open to the views of other societies and cultures now. It has also completely changed the way I travel! Even if work is paying for a five star hotel, I still try to meet as many CS'ers in the area as I can. Meeting everyone in the world is a tough goal, but I'm working on it! ;)
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
Life revolves around a series of experiences and the relationships built through those experiences.
I see Couchsurfing as a great way to enable getting out in the world so you can have those experiences and build those relationships. Chasing these ideals for myself and trying to help enable those same things for other travelers is why I'm here.
So far that plan has been working out well! :) I've been surfing on couches since 2006 and actively hosting since 2007. I'm definitely more experienced on the hosting side of things, since I don't get to go on nearly as much of my own travel as I would like. That said, I've hosted over 125 or so people at my place, which has allowed me to be a tourist in my own home town a number of times. Needless to say, that's another one of my favorite things about Couchsurfing.

Lehren, lernen, teilen
Well lets see, as for the teaching/sharing side, I can surely help out with any technical computer requirements anyone has. :)
Now, on the learning side of things, any information on diving or flying would be amazing!
