About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be lucid about all the aspects of my life. To absorb the experience, and never become too cocky.

ABOUT ME

I was born in the poorest country in Eastern European which used to be part of the Soviet Union - Moldova (similar to Kazakhstan portrayed in Borat) and moved to the U.S with my family when I was 6 1/2 years old. My family, all of higher education, had $20 for 7 of us and we first lived outside of Boston (in Southie) where I used to be sick often (my class would get rewarded for every month they had perfect attendance, I was rewarded for 0 of those months because I was sick all the time back then), I would get into fights over chocolate milks and struggle with the English language. I also had to stay back a grade in Kindergarten because my English teacher whose name was ironically Mrs. English felt I was partially retarded because I didn't know the English language when I first moved here. My parents landed great jobs and we soon moved to Albany (upstate New York) where I attended K-12 Hebrew School for a few years - learning both English and Hebrew at the same time. Things looked up when my parents saved enough to move us out to Suburbia and my life took a complete 180. Here I formed the majority of my personality, besides the factor of learning the English language by watching a lot of movies and analyzing the American culture based on them, lost my English accent, and made most of my friends - acquired interests such as Sports etc. I was a floater and made friends with everyone, lived a childhood of adventure with the friends I made and my family who loved to travel and give me everything they never had when they were kids, played competitive and physical sports such as Wrestling, Football, etc and lived "the life" I attended Brandeis U. which grounded me as once a party animal to a more studious and serious individual and then moved out to Los Angeles in 2007 to pursue my dreams of producing more seriously. I finished my Masters in Producing in 2010, and line produced my first feature length film this past October.

PHILOSOPHY

Anything is possible. You can do anything you want in this life as long as you follow through.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

People would describe me as daring, adventurous, ballsy open-minded but still easygoing and relaxed at the same time. I am also very passionate, and focused. I make sure that everything I do has a goal and a purpose.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was first introduced to this by a buddy of mine who traveled over 74 countries using this tool, and decided to experiment with it as I began volunteering to work Film Festivals such as Cinequest in San Jose. The tool was amazing, and now I look to use it for work.

Interests

I love meeting people of different backgrounds and cultures. In San Jose, I met a talented piano player Arash and stayed with him at the International House at SJSU - meeting people from all different countries which is exactly what I was looking for. This is one of the reasons I loved staying at hostels overseas.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a lot of movies that people have never heard about mixed in with those that are favorites of everyone. Movies such as Kuffs, Stayed Tuned, Freejack, Hackers to Encino Man, The Breakfast Club, Fifth Element, Dazed and Confused, Adam Sandler Films etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The International House at SJSU and meeting people from the same country as myself who have successfully assimilated themselves with the American culture.

Teach, Learn, Share

People that are of a free spirit, open-minded with a splash of adventure. I also like motivated, ambitious, and goal oriented people. Those who are laid back, and can brush of the stresses that come with life and take life one day at a time. I also love learning about those who are different than myself - of a different culture, religion, or background.

Countries I’ve Visited

Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, Australia, Canada, Cayman Islands, Dominican Republic, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Mexico, Netherlands, Saint Lucia, Spain

Countries I’ve Lived In

Moldova, United States
