About Me

In my life I've been/worked as:

- a plumber
- a gardener
- an atheist
- a New Age lunatic
- a busker
- an English teacher
- a Quality Assurance person in an IT team
- an editor and proofreader
- a Philosophy student
- a semi-professional can-picker at Roskilde festival

Now I'm working as a live-in carer in UK and saving up money for a world-trip.

Of all these things I think the most enjoyable one for me was teaching English. I love the sound of that language and developing my didactic skills to pass the knowledge about it was a great experience which I plan to continue in future.

(Although drilling into concrete with a jackhammer definitely was something)

I'm a man of many faults and I'm working hard to become better and better as a person.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because it's a great opportunity to get to know many things about the country/city I'm visiting that tourist guide won't give me. And because befriending new people and exchanging thoughts with them is one of the things that keep me alive.

Interests

I'm interested in self-development: physical, emotional, social, intellectual, ethical, spiritual.

I'm also interested in many other things - which is a blessing and a curse. A blessing because I find learning new things so much pleasurable, a curse - because I can't really focus on any of them as much as I'd want to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Throwing several hundred thousands Belarusian rubles in the air in front of a pub in Krakow at 4:00 AM. Watching a group of ex-convicts (who were at the same pub) throwing themselves to the ground, nudging each other trying to hastily grab as many notes as possible. Then, back at the pub counter, telling one of the crooks (his forehead sweaty, his eyes shimmering) who asked me how much are the 4- and 5-digit notes in his hand worth: 'About 50 groszy (=10 eurocents) I think".

I'm really not sure how I made it through my early 20s.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach Polish, English and basics of Esperanto. I can teach basics of guitar playing. I can make you laugh.

I'd like to learn German (I speak it at very elementary level), Spanish, Russian and French. I'm open to learn anything though - if you've run out of people willing to learn unicycling, I'm your man.

What I Can Share with Hosts

- basics of playing guitar
- basic knowledge about Philosophy
- my thoughts
- funny, peculiar, scary and happy things I've experienced
