About Me
Hi!
My name is Simon! I come from Kraków, a city on the south of Poland. Currently I live in Warsaw where I'm
studying economics at Warsaw School of Economics.
I do love exploring and always seek for some new experiences. And for me, the most important part of it is meeting new people.
Apart from education, work in a couple of organisations, social projects I love photography, cinema and sport. Those three things always take me to another world.
I try to explore how does the film industry works and how movies are being made, so i watch a lot of stuff about editing, cinematography and production. When having such an opportunity I go to film festivals as a photographer or a volunteer. As a kid dreamin about making a film and getting an Oscar.
Love and admire sport in general because of the idea of competition, self-improvement and determination.
Sports:
- tennis - it's just brilliant, has certain elegance and teaches me precision and sense of time.
- basketball - a lot of fun and great to play with a group of friends
- cycling - the whole summer if only wheather lets me do so
- skiing - sport that gives me the most fun of all
- climbing - indoor and outdoor, sometimes boulders,
For a couple of years I've travelled a bit. I really enjoy exploring, meeting interesting people, trying a local cuisine and as a result - broadening my horizonts of experiences. It which perfectly matches with my interests in photography, geography, history and learning new languages.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love travelling and I definetely consider exploring new cultures, learn history and tradition of visited places as an inseparable part of travelling. The best way to do so is of course meeting local people, authentic source of knowledge and information about their country better than all the books and guides.
Thanks to them you can observe a lifestyle of a particular nation, improve your language skills and make new contacts around the world!

Music, Movies, and Books
Films:
Usually I watch criminal, mob, westerns, war, psychological and adventure cinema. My all time favourites are: Lawrence of Arabia (1962), Once Upon a Time in America (1984), Amadeus (1984), Into the Wild (2007).
I watched Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Forrest Gump, Lion King, Mulan, Pocahontas, Ice Age and Madagaskar billions of times as a kid
Music:
I listen to almost everything that pleases my ear ;) But especially film and classical music (Holst, Grieg, Rimsky-Korsakov, Chopin), swing, jazz (great to chill) and popular music (too many to count them)
Books:
I used to read a lot of adventure fantasy (LOTR, Ranger's Apprentice), but now I like criminals (Agatha Christie) and reportage (Ryszard Kapuscinski, John Krakauer)
