Overview
About Me
26 years old dude, currently in Poland.
Trying to figure out what the hell is going on out there and to find out the sense of liberty that cannot be found living mundane, capital-city life.
Trying to see as much as possible and have as little regrets as possible.
Trying to turn 'academically inclined' into 'street smart'.
Trying to understand and accept myself by understanding and accepting other people.
Big insult comedy fan (Don Rickles is the man - be prepared).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to belong. I want to be the part of community I enter by speaking a language (or at least not having a language barrier) and blending in by staying with locals. I cannot accept being just a visitor, I want to feel everywhere as comfortable as possible and CS gives an unique opportunity not to feel like outsider.
Interests
Oh Dear CS... you don't have enough space for that.
Snooker - sport that resembles life the most and always reminds of looking at even the smallest detail. If you play snooker you know how the mindset and preparation increase your chances to succeed
Hiking - because getting on the top of the mountain always gives you catharsis and rewards the effort you made on the road
Politics - not only you know what is going on around, but above all you become aware of the different layers of the world. You also learn how to easily spot the idiots who try to give simple answers to complex issues.
Languages - I don't even speak a fourth of those I would like to speak. The first and most important factor that makes you a part of a community.
Comedy - old generation: Rickles (my absolute hero), Davis Jr, Carson. Regardless of how deep the shit is - if you are able to laugh you can make it through. Prepare to have your ass roasted.
More to come...
Music, Movies, and Books
60s rock: Stones, Cream, Hendrix - those dudes knew how to jam without all the commercial shit out there now.
Modern tunes: Chris Stapleton (wish I had his beard), Esperanza Spalding (Princess of Jazz)
Tarantino does'em well.
Autobiographies, political thrillers and popular science books (but mostly in Polish, cause this stuff is hard enough - 'Brief History of Time' in English is quite a challenge)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Well... I believe that it's still to come, but I have lived in Yosemite for 2 months, went skydiving, barbecued in Icelandic volcano and made my way through cactuses on Costa Brava cliff.
Teach, Learn, Share
If you want to learn more about Poland - I am the man.
My mind is full of mostly unnecessary information about various stuff, but they come very handy in hanging out by the bonfire or with drink by the river or sea
Always learning and pushing forward
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would like to contribute as much as I can. Whether it is helping you with the chores or cooking a meal - I am open. If you need extra info about Polish cuisine or customs - I will tell you as much as I know.
