About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To meet new people, share and explore more of Canada's great outdoors and continually improve my photographic image making skills.
ABOUT ME
After several years in Vancouver, I now live in Squamish, British Columbia; a beautiful and tranquil place where I can surround myself with what is more truthfully who I am, rather than concrete and congestion. I love to travel though I don't get to as much a I would like, so I always have itchy feet. I have loved photographs since I was young and photography is a big part of who I am. I also enjoy mountain biking, good music, basketball, earth science and the universe that surrounds us.
PHILOSOPHY
Believe and Achieve...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Started hosting people in 2006 whilst living in London. I gently branched out into surfing, and on my return trip to Australia I surfed my way round the USA and in NZ. I have surfed all around BC and Alberta and met some great people. Co-hosted a sponsored CS party at the end of one summer in Van and enjoy catching up with people at the odd CS function...
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couchsurfing is possibly the single coolest independent travelers resource that there is. Some people join for the free accommodation aspect, but soon discover it has much MUCH more to offer than that. It opens up opportunities that may never otherwise have arisen. Meeting people from other cultures, getting under the skin of new towns & cities and bringing understanding and education of endless facets of life to new people...

Music, Movies, and Books
I was a big movie watcher years back, but these days i don't have a lot of time for the screen, although i wish i did. There are a lot of great films from the past few years that i really want to see, and i am slowly ticking them off. love cult stuff, thrillers, heist flicks, drama, and im kinda geeky for sci-fi stuff (no NOT Star-Trek, more like the Matrix etc) and those with a masterfully crafted story. I like biographies, travel books, world class fiction, and books that can teach you things. Musically i love all kinds of stuff, are you ready, its long, and this is just a taster...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
a few things actually 1) Hiked to (in the dark) and stood at the base of the volcano Kilauea on Hawaii, watching the Lava flowing down the mountain and into the ocean as the moon rose over the horizon. Breathtaking.... 2) Watched the sun rise at the grand canyon, you just have to do it one day. 3) Saw lightning strike the ground; sparks, dirt, the sound of air tearing, & static electricity standing hair on end. The fright mixed with shear exhilaration at the same time, it simply cannot be beaten. 4) Swam with dolphins near Perth, they are just the most beautiful creatures. 5) Trekked over 70kms unsupported from Lukla to Gokyo Ri and back, and won a staring match with Sagarmatha at 5,500 metres. The Himalaya are astonishingly beautiful, an unforgettable journey.
