Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on couch surfing because I want to meet new friends from all over the world and share my culture and lifestyle with them. I also want to learn from other people’s experiences and perspectives, and discover new places and things. I think couch surfing is a great way to travel authentically and meaningfully, and to create lasting connections and memories.
Interests
I like music, playing guitar, cooking and local food in general, love to cook and try new recipes, especially from different cultures. I can make some delicious Sri Lankan dishes. And I like to spent time with interesting people and having deep conversation.

I like deep house and love to enjoy any kind of music from different genres. I also like watch movies, especially those that are inspiring, informative, or entertaining.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share local cuisine, nature around the house and wisdom of this place and village. Also advice from my life experience. I can teach you how to make some of my favorite dishes, how to play some songs on the guitar, or how to use some graphic design software. I also want to learn from you, such as your language, your culture, your hobbies, or anything else that you are passionate about.
What I Can Share with Hosts
We can be your guide in this area with my housemate. We do different types of tours and experiences. According to your preferences we can arrange the plan. Here are some of the options that we can offer you:
- We can cook together and share a lot of things about local cuisine. You will learn how to make some traditional and delicious dishes. You will also get to taste some of the fresh and organic ingredients that we grow in our garden, such as coconut, banana, papaya, etc.
- Coconut processing – all the things you can do with coconut, how to harvest, how to cook with it,… You will see how we use every part of the coconut, from the husk to the water, for various purposes, such as food, drink, oil, fiber, etc. You will also get to try some of the products that we make with coconut, such as milk, cream, yogurt, vinegar, etc.
- Rubber experience – you will see how to collect and process rubber (from the tree to the material). You will learn how rubber is extracted from the latex of the rubber tree, and how it is processed into different forms, such as sheets.
- Fruit tasting – lot of tropical fruit can be found in this area, so you can taste and learn more about them. You will get to sample some of the exotic and delicious fruits that grow in our land, such as guavas, stone apple, pineapple, banana, jackfruit, orange, lime, etc. You will also learn some of the health benefits and nutritional values of each fruit, as well as some of the recipes and dishes that you can make with them.
- Especially you can taste Kola kanda - A traditional herbal congee or gruel made from raw rice, coconut milk and the fresh juice of medicinally valued leafy greens.
