Overview
About Me
TL;DR: I'm a Vietnamese living in Belgium. I finished my study in Computer Science a few months ago and have been working here since then.
I would consider my self a very friendly, open-minded, and trustworthy person (no boasting, i swear :p). I might be a little shy at first but would quickly turn into a barrel of laughs. I used to have a pretty much boring life until the day, a couple of years ago, I decided to change my life. I started a new journey of my life, from which I could explore the world the way I want. With great freedom in mind!
** I've stopped travelling for a while due to high amount of work and study (at the same time), but after attending the talk "How to travel the world with almost no money" of Tomislav Perko (https://tomislavperko.com), I know it's time for me to go back to what I truly love.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Two big things: Having more friends, and learning about the world. I enjoy enlarging my friend network to as far as it could be. And there're no better ways to enlighten my mind than by listening to stories told by great friends, whom I expect to meet through CS.
I've been around Europe with hostels of all sort and have indeed met lots of people, and now I want to bring my travel experience to another level: Having some lovely people who are kind enough to host me, join me in my trips and together share amazing experience.
Interests
Travelling #1. The very reason I came to Europe and decided to settle down here. I join some random trips with friends or strangers, and sometimes want to explore the world on my own. Oh, I do loving reading books when I manage to have some free time without travelling. I have also interest in mangas and video games (actually video game used to be my, kind of, #2 interest).

Music, Movies, and Books
Very diverse. Could be anything from some soft piano masterpiece, sweet pop ballad to alternative rock or heavy metal. Was in the Linkin Park live show in Paris Bercy in Nov 2014, best show ever attended.
Aside from pure technology-related content (which, of course, has been a part of my life), I enjoy reading/watching sci-fi books/movies. So far, Harry Potter is the series I adore the most.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Dropped my boring PhD life in South Korea, found my way to Europe/Belgium and started my whole new world. Never regret. Ever!
Teach, Learn, Share
Asian culture, languages, people... anything I could possibly have in mind. Of course, as a software engineer (or developer or whatever it is called), I'm willing to be boasting with you about my (shamefully limited) knowledge of the computer world. And hey, do you have any computers that need to be fixed?
What I Can Share with Hosts
Anything you want to know about Asian, Vietnamese or places I've been to, people I've met and particularly interesting incidents I've experienced from my journeys. Yes, I have had some crazily amazing moments since my arrival in Belgium 2,5 years ago, collected mostly from my Europe trip. And have you ever heard about B.E.S.T, the best student organisation in Europe that I'm a member of? I'd never feel bored telling the same stories again and again to any new friends I meet. Also, if you would love to have some taste of the great beer and chocolate from Belgium where I've been living, surely I could help ;).
