About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding utophia

ABOUT ME

Friendly, easygoing, simple, honest, and passionate for things I believe in. Good at giving people the benefit of the doubt. What can I do, I'm Japanese.

I'm originally from Japan, have spent some time in the States in elementary school & at uni, and also have experienced living in the UK later on in adult life doing a TEFL.

PHILOSOPHY

You can never fully understand anything until you experience it yourself. Respect for differences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Would love to take advantage of it in the future as a surfer or a host to make the people in the world come together a bit more.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Totally new to CS as of now, but have a good Japanese female friend (ex-flatmate) who has told me about this amazing system which took her to many countries in Europe and Africa.

Interests

Encountering people, cultures, and foods from different backgrounds. Education. Music. Being by the seaside on a sunshiny day. To sit down with like-minded people who I can have a good laugh with and ramble on over a drink or coffee.

Music, Movies, and Books

Films: Biutiful, A Single Man, Ken Loach films, Sid and Nancy, L'enfant (The Child), I Love You Phillip Morris, The First Grader...

Music: R&B, blues, bossa nova, flamenco, tango, reggae, Okinawa music, Hawaiian, folk, anything that is from the heart. I think have a weak spot for acoustic guitars.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visiting the Panama Canal where my late grandfather probably sailed across more than 70 years ago or so, coincidentally on a certain memorial day of him.

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't have remarkable marketable skills except for English teaching, but I guess I have experience living in both worlds: the East and the West, so I may be able to share some thoughts which can be helpful for others.

Countries I’ve Visited

Costa Rica, Denmark, France, Jamaica, Norway, Panama, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

Japan, United Kingdom, United States
