About Me

I have a bad habit of buying one way tickets to unusual countries.

I am a wanderer. I wander around my city, around my country and the world. I'd much rather go for a wander than sit over tea.

Into anything outdoors, but I also love cement and culture too.

PHILOSOPHY

"Life is an adventure for those with courage." -Eric Bogosian

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted and been hosted all around the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had been a fan of CS for a while.. but my most recent experience involved staying in a cave with a host in the Middle East for what was supposed to be a night..then ended up being two months. Met all sorts of wonderful people who wanted to help me complete a photography project..where else do you find wonderful people and strong communities like that? Only on Couch Surfing.

Interests

Photography, traveling, making sourdough bread, camping, kayaking, talking, Eastern Europe, cooking, meeting new people.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Science of Sleep, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly for movies. If they have subtitles, I probably love them. Music ranges from rockabilly to indie pop to reggae...probably indicative of my attention span. Books I love are many things by Paulo Coelho as well as things by Aleksandar Hemon.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once lived with nomads in the Arabian desert... that was pretty incredible. I've also been to over 30 countries, averaging over 25 days per country (which both shows that I'm a slow traveler, but also into statistics ;) )

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to photograph, learn languages, and cook. A train hopper once taught me how to play the spoons, and I believe I can also teach you. I've been described as "interested in anything and everything"-- if there is something to learn, I'll give it a try.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Food! I'm very good at sharing food.
