When I travel I want to not just be in a city and see it, but to feel the atmosphere of the city reflected by those who know it well. I want memorable experiences to be able to look back on, rather than just a ticked-off to-do list. I want to meet people and get to know them, share stories, exchange culture and language, get local tips on where to go and what to do, and hopefully make lifelong friends in the process.

I'm passionate about music, and I listen to just about anything and everything. From jazz to hip-hop to rock to techno and a hundred other things, I'm always open to new tunes. Recently I've been reading a lot of non-fiction, particularly books with a focus on science or history, as well as the occasional novel in Spanish as way of practicing the language while I'm not in the country.
