About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I'd like to have a long, full, beautiful life... to master many skills and to pass on what I've learned... to always be reminded of the wonder of life.
ABOUT ME
I'm a dude who got his first taste of travel in the summer of 2011 and is hungry for more. My interests are very diverse, and I've invested a lot of time into music (guitar, vocals, flue), mathematics, and the martial arts. I love to share my experiences, to listen to others, and to go out looking for wonderful people and places.
PHILOSOPHY
I feel that I am lucky to be alive. As such, I want to pay close attention to everything I can, meet people from many walks of life, learn as much as possible, and generally soak in all that I can.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I first signed up for CS after my first major excursion in the world, then I started working too much and traveling where the wind takes me got set on the back burner. So now my wife and I are trying to get back into it and looking to see cool places and meet neat people.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None just yet.
Interests
Kung fu, heavy metal music, non-heavy metal music, hiking and camping, exploring, mathematics, yoga, cooking, and sharing new experiences.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I lived for a month in China, where I studied internal gong fu with a Daoist priest and his students. I met my wife in the oversized baggage check line in an airport.
Teach, Learn, Share
I teach a beginner's course in Taijiquan in a nearby town. Anything that improves the body fascinates me.
I teach guitar lessons at a local music store. I am a moderately capable player, but I love laying down simple music and jamming.
I am also a mathematician and a historian with an interest in the works of Leonard Euler. I've got a publication in a peer reviewed journal discussing some of his techniques. If I'm in your area and you need math help, I'm your man!
