Overview
About Me
I practiced as a solo family doctor for about ten years on an isolated island in Japan. Now, I live with my wife and 2-year-old daughter in Karuizawa, a high plateau area surrounded by beautiful forests and mountains, similar to Nordic countries. I love hiking, trail-running, and cooking. The happiest moment to me is walking with my wife and 2 year-old daughter in the great nature. I also love playing Handpan which I have just started in mid-2024.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love sharing something new with others especially those with different backgrounds, cultures, and thoughts. It broadens my perspective and deepens my understanding of who I am. I enjoy welcoming friends to my home and talking with them over dinner or snacks.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love Malte Marten's music who is one of the greatest Handpan players living in Berlin. His playing is so moving and touching that I finally started playing that instrument in mid-2024. I frequently watch his YouTube videos he playing in nature and that takes me deep into the bottom of my heart.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I completed my very first ultra trail marathon in New Zealand in 2022, which taught me the importance of enjoying the process rather than just focusing on the goal, and how beneficial engaging in activities in nature is for our well-being.
What I Can Share with Hosts
As both a family doctor and a father of young children, I've been reflecting on what it means to be a good father, a good doctor, and a good person. I believe that being a good father also means being a good member of society and that we grow as individuals through parenting and fully committing to what we are encountering now. I hope we share what is good life what is well-being, and what is health to us each other.
