ABOUT ME

Hey my name is Emily, I love to travel and find that I learn something new about myself when I do. I love meeting new people and experiencing cultures other than my own. I try to take a little something away from all the people I meet, and I hope that I can give something to others as well :) I love nature and being outdoors. I've done two years of college and have decided to take my life on a different quest for knowledge. Wisdom that is not found in text books or class rooms but the wisdom that comes from stepping out of your comfort zone, walking through a city and not understanding the language, from meeting new people. Its all in the experiences and that's what I want to gain!

PHILOSOPHY

I have always said I'm lost and ok with it :) To much emphasis is placed on "direction" well what about those of us who don't have a direction. We might not have clear directions for our lives but that in itself is the most educational, self-discovering journey anyone will ever be fortunate enough to experience. I love traveling because there is so much self discovery. When I lived in Germany for 3 months I learned so much more about myself, language, history and culture than I ever had before. I cannot wait to be able to collect more experiences like that in my lifetime!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm currently not traveling. I'm nested in Wenatchee WA. A beautiful valley next to the Columbia river. 2 Hours drive from Seattle with many other fun things to see and do within an hour's drive! If you're in the area and need advice on where to eat/drink or ideas on what to do write me!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couch surfed in Venice Italy and it was an amazing experience! There were two other guests staying at the house and we all shared good times together. My host Federico was amazing! So hospitable and kind! I had an amazing time and I'm very glad I got to make new friends!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all types of music from country to classic rock. From hip hop to big band. When it comes to books I usually like Historical fiction or Tennyson and Poe. I like to keep life light and happy so comedies are my typical movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It may not be that incredible but it was definitely a personal triumph. That was getting on a plane fresh out of high school, having never been outside of the States and flying to Germany to live with a family I had never met. That was terrifying and excited, brave and risky all at the same time. But everything exceeded my biggest hopes! I've successfully sold my artwork and have received recognition as well. For me that is a huge honor and I'm proud of myself for it.
