ABOUT ME

I spent years riding freight trains in the US and visited all of the lower 48 with my dog. When he got too old to travel I moved back to Iowa.

I ended up going to school and getting a BA in Anthropology and English (writing).

I am a chef who learned to cook while living with a houseful of vegetarians and vegans. I can appreciate all kinds of cooking and would love to cook for you.

When I was living in Des Moines I was part of a home brewing collective. I spent a year brewing beer a few times a week and learning everything I could about the brews.

I am currently fascinated by the linguistic variations in the regions we have been traveling to.

My travels are largely not influenced by tourist attractions finding that I learn the most by just sitting down with people and having them teach me about their part of the world.
