About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Looking to explore new cultures, meet interesting people, learn from wise old men and have a few adventures along the way.
Next adventure is Krabi, Thailand where I will be staying from 25/11/23 to 24/12/23 and doing a month long Muay Thai training camp.
ABOUT ME
I am a laid back and easy-going guy. I like to think I am open-minded and I enjoy learning about different philosophies and ways of life, meeting new people, experiencing new things and I love a good adventure. I try to remain optimistic about all things in life. I often go through phases, becoming interested in different things and taking up different hobbies, usually somewhat creative.
PHILOSOPHY
My personal philosophy is that there is no specific universal meaning to life, we must find that thing which makes us feel like our life has meaning and which motivates us. I live my life because I have been given this gift and the most sensible thing to do is try and make the most of it. Personally, I believe life is all about people and forming relationships, gaining a better understanding of ourselves and others whilst pursuing something that motivates us and makes us feel fulfilled. On top of this, we should try fill our time with as many unique experiences as possible and not be too fussy, we gain as much from the bad experiences as we do the positive ones.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have couchsurfed a few times when I was travelling through the USA and it was a wonderful experience. I also hosted some guests once when I had a free house during uni times which also was a wonderful experience.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have had a fair few couchsurfing experiences over the years, both through this website and the traditional way. I had some very interesting experiences being hosted by strangers whilst hitchiking through Europe a few summers ago. The most memorable of which is no doubt meeting a guy in a bar in Belgium who offered us a place to stay in house.
After taking a detour to his friends house, which turned out to be a parked truck, the back of which he had transformed into a small house, we continued onto his place. When we arrived, his house turned out to actually be an abandoned house which he had renovated and taken up occupation in. On top of that it was also partly a Marijuanna factory... Nonetheless he was very hospitable and it was the best nights sleep we had on the course of our trip. In fact, he was one of the most insightful people I have met before and the experience left a lasting impact on my life.
Overall my couchsurfing experience has been very positive and I have always been left astounded at the generosity people will extend to complete strangers.
Interests
My interests are many and tend to change over time as I pick up new interests and forget to pursue old ones so it's difficult to state them. Some things I enjoy, but not necessarily actively pursue, are: cooking, trying exotic new foods, martial arts, working out/fitness, the brain/neuroscience, philosophy, spirituality, entrepreneurship, travelling, socialising and seeing new perspectives, anything related to self-development and improvement.

Music, Movies, and Books
I don't have specific genres of music that I really like and my tastes in music tends to change depending on what people around me are listening to. Having said that, I love reggae music and I listen to a lot of UK rap but literally enjoy almost all types of music.
I have just started reading again but not been blown away by any of the books I've read so far, so if anyone has any good suggestions, drop me a recommendation. As a kid I loved all of Dan Brown's novels like Da Vinci Code, Digital Fortress, etc. As for films my all-time favourite film is without a doubt Fight club. Some other films I have really enjoyed are Shutter Island, Sweeney Todd, Limitless and Snatch. Also open to film recommendations.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
What started off as a ridiculous idea, to build our own house in a derelict part of the woods, actually became reality. And in the last few years our small hut, which was built from scraps and junk by a few teenagers, has been home to many a homeless people over the last few years which I find pretty amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
This is a tricky one since I tend to be a jack of all trades and master of none. I definitely could share a few lamb curry recipes that I have picked up from my mum. Maybe also how to throw a roundhouse and spin kick.
