Overview
About Me
Aspiring Sound Designer and travel lover. I work at a computer museum in Seattle as a museum guide but also do research and act as the AV Tech. I majored in Japanese and Sound Design for Film and studied abroad in Japan for a year (as well as having studied Japanese since high school).
I wanted to be an ESL teacher in Japan and have many years of teaching English, Japanese, and elementary school computer programming. Later in college I found sound design and it's been a whirlwind ever since! I also started an International Student Support Club at my film school and worked with filmmaking students from all over the world.
I've also hosted many international students from Japan and Australia and I've had many host families during my time in Japan.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Audio gear is very expensive and as I'm trying to establish myself (and still want to travel the world), I'd like to cut down on costs (and make friends) by couchsurfing. I would be extremely appreciative if I could stay with you.
I plan to start hosting when I no longer have roommates. Could be awhile though. xD

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: instrumental, orchestral, acoustic, Disney, musicals, film scores, pop, indie pop, whatever I'm in the mood for.
Movies/TV: Fantasy (LOTR, GoT, etc.), theatrical book adoptions (Harry Potter, super excited for Ready Player One), CGI/practical effects-heavy films (Jurassic Park, Avatar, 300, etc.), Disney/animated, comedies
Books: Fiction, fantasy, young adult fiction. John Green (DFTBA!), Mercedes Lackey, Anne McCaffrey, J.K. Rowling, and many more.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sang in a musical in Japan.
Teach, Learn, Share
ESL, Japanese, singing, audio, tech, computers, Scratch visual programming language, and a lot of other random skills.
All my friends call me mom or auntie and most of my friends come to me for advice or for a kind ear, so feel free to talk with me.
I love learning about foreign languages and cultures. And just learning anything in general. If you're passionate about it, please teach me your ways!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'll pay for my use of the utilities and for groceries for myself as well as either paying you a bit for hosting and/or buying you food (or we can come to another arrangement). I can also fix your computer / audio tech. And I'll bring you gifts! I'm very consciousness of coming into other people's homes and will treat it with respect.
I often quietly keep to myself but I'm also up for hanging out, going out to try new food, chatting, exploring and adventuring!
