关于我

32 year old in Melbourne whilst studying, working and experiencing what this city has to offer.

In 2014, I started challenging myself to start actually doing things instead of overthinking and giving into anxiety which ultimately led to a one way plane ticket to Finland purchased months advance. Since then I have visited dozens of countries, lived in England and Italy, learnt a lot about the world and my passions have grown exponentially. I have come back with a different perspective on what I want to do with my life as London bought out different aspirations, ambitions and passions in me.

I'm going back to studies to study Business, Design and potentially go on to study sustainability/environment related business.

Living in the moment and allowing in strangers has been so enriching and I want to continue to meet interesting people from all over. The best thing about travelling alone has been the insight into communities, lifestyles and having experiences with so many different and interesting personalities. I feel like we are all one big community in some senses and my world feels so much bigger now.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

Sharing experiences from other worlds. Love solo travelling and being immersed in local culture, picking up hidden gems and pockets that can only be discovered with those who love the place they live. I'm not really into huge tourist attractions and can be found in cafes, book shops, by the canals, on a bicycle, sharing a glass of wine with a local - I prefer to make memories over all else.

When I travel alone I'm often doing so out of choice as I love the freedom and space but I also love to chat to locals and learn from people. One of the most important things I've learnt is that the good people in the world outweigh the bad a thousand times over.. I want to surround myself with diversity and share as many experiences as I can!

In June I BlaBlaCar'd my way to Belgium from London for the weekend. I loved it and met some great people. This concept opened my mind up to couchsurfing and I would highly recommend it!

I am constantly wanting to go on adventures and will continue to do whilst I work and study in this wonderful new city which I have wanted to live in for years - Melbourne. I will host surfers once I myself am settled which is likely to be from mid-March 2017.

兴趣

I like to be quite active with cycling, walking and exploring, craft, travel of course, cooking and food, coffee and tea lover - I can't choose one over the other!
I'm quite eco conscious and love a good vege garden, design, farmers and design markets, picnics and reading, global politics and economics though my knowledge is limited, learning about other cultures and sub cultures.

I enjoy good conversation, comedy nights and would like to join a book club. Box-set lover and I could get lost in film.

This year i'd like to read a lot more and have dedicated my shopping adventures to thrift stores as much as possible. Melbourne seems to be the most insanely great place for this and I love it! Love thrifting, anything Swedish, Finnish, Danish, garage sales, picnics, would love to start a knitting and wine/tea club but need to make some friends first. Am I getting old? Perhaps..

I'd love to learn some vegan recipes for friends. I tend to eat a lot of vegetarian food but am not super strict with this - it just kind of happens.

音乐、电影和书籍

I love a lot of books but The God of Small Things is one I have loved for many years

Love all music excluding classical and country & western - currently listening to techno as a friend sent me a bunch in the mail

Favourite film is tricky... I love a drama and am always up for documentaries of any kind.. other than ones about sport..

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Selling all my belongings and moving abroad 2 months after the decision

Climbed an active volcano in Indonesia, solo-travelled through Morocco including an overnight stay in the Sahara, skydived in Western Australia and swam with dolphins.

I want to do more asap! I would like to set a group physical challenge for 2017

教,学,和分享

I'm not sure how much I can teach but I suppose time will tell! I have a keen interest in world politics and economics. I'm great at finding fab food places, not a bad cook and a keen dinner/picnic/bbq host. I have some random and great travel stories, have an open mind and a broad perspective which makes me a good conversationalist. Not closed minded and care with all my might about the world, the environment and what we are leaving behind for next gens.

I value experiences over stuff. I love beautiful stuff though. For some reason great design has always soothed my soul. I've come to realise that to be happy I need to be completely invested in what I am doing and for that reason i'm back in Melbourne to study and want to keep the travel spirit alive and continue to be inspired by different people and cultures. I don't like bubbles.
