About Me

Hello! I’ve been living in the Portland area now for 7 years, I’m originally from Washington state. I graduated in 2019 with my physical therapy degree and have been working in the Portland area as a physical therapist for 2 years. All while living with my best friend and adventure buddy, Phil. I enjoy the lush green beauty that Oregon has to offer. Swimming, hiking, camping, fresh evergreen air, summer sunshine, and the more frequent rain on my skin. I enjoy art, eating yummy food, music, learning, reading, adventuring and things of that sort. I recently started to learn to long board, I’m an on again off again harp student. I enjoy educational podcasts, history, learning about culture, art, writing, and religion. I find curiosity in most things and appreciate a new eye, an hour of learning something new, or just sitting in silence drinking coffee.

Phil on the other hand is a wild child with some suave dance moves. He loves chips and snacks, making people laugh, skateboarding, taking photos and over socializing with strangers everywhere. He is also a physical therapist and works with me helping senior/geriatric citizens walk and do the things they love through our work. He’s passionate about martial arts and loves to teach anyone who is curious. He’s got a secret charm of making people smile and making people feel comfortable, and I am eternally amazed by what a wonderful and unique person he is.

We recently re-opened our doors to couch surfers after the pandemic and are trying to be mindful of limiting frequency of guests due to our profession. We’ve hosted Couchsurfers for several years and have had very positive experiences. We’re hoping to accommodate travelers who are excited about seeing new places, are mindful, respectful, positive, and want to see Portland from a more intimate setting.

Both Phil and I work full time jobs that are quite demanding and require a fair amount of after hours case managing. Depending on when you visit, at times we may have increased or limited free time to spend with you. We’re happy to provide recommendations or connect you with other local folks depending on what you’re interested in. Thanks for reading!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people, offer a safe environment for people to explore and learn. I would like to experience more diversity beyond the northwestern corner of the country and meet/learn about other cultures and places.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Phil and myself live in Portland, specifically in Kings Hill/Goose Hollow area. We’re simple folks who like to keep our windows open and collect too many plants. We have a sleeping pad that fits up to two people as well as additional floor space for anyone who likes that sort of thing. Our house is petite so there is not a ton of privacy, however you will have your own space either in our solarium or living room. We only have one bathroom and shower. But we live with sharing spirits and offer up our living space, kitchen, and stories to all. I like food, I usually have food recommendations and I like nature so I will point you in the direction of a good hike. We both work a traditional work week so we aren’t always as available as we would like to be - but if you catch us on a weekend or during time off work we are more than willing to spend time and explore the city or surrounding nature with you.
