About Me
CURRENT MISSION
There are no strangers, only friends I have not met yet ;)
ABOUT ME
I am an American woman, but I have only lived in Germany. My parents left the States and settled in Germany in 1970 as teachers and parents of six children and don´t have any desire to leave Germany ... only when plan on traveling, but I have already traveled a lot and like meeting people from all around the world at my home.
I hope to travel to South America for 2-3 months.
PHILOSOPHY
No risk - no fun
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I host others and like getting to know about diverse cultures and having my guests participate in my life, when they have enough time. I like cooking with my guests. And I like cooking for my hosts when I travel.
In my early CS-years I organized many CS meetings in Wiesbaden and even Munich while I traveled there for the St. Patrick´s Parade. Most of the CS-meetings I organized were Cooking-events at my old apartment with a big kitchen. Soon I will have more space again after I had to leave my old apartment. So, I am hoping for a revival of the wonderful cooking parties. Usually, 15-25 guests came. That is how I came up with my idea called Schnippelparty, which turned into my job meanwhile: www.schnippelparty.de
Interests
travelling, dancing, inline-skating, swimming, architecture, nature, meeting new people, seeing new things, trying out unusual things, cooking with almost everything I get or find, I think buying things in stores is too easy and kind of boring/useless

Music, Movies, and Books
I prefer listening and dancing to older music from the 1920´s till 70´s/some of the 80´s.
Movies with a good or true story and talented actors do not necessarily have to be well-known.
I read up on things on the web. No long stories. More practical and helpful books like travel guides or cook books :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Foz do Iguacu in South America, Dunn´s River Falls in Jamaica, on my inline skates with a green dress at the St. Patrick´s Parade in Munich plus at the Carnival Parade here in Wiesbaden and I joined this club!
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: as a pionier dumpster diver I can teach you a lot about a healthy sustainable way to eat, with a low budget. Community Cooking Parties.
What it means being a "freegan"
Some hot spots to get an idea about a good dancing culture, which is meanwhile hard to find in Germany
I would like to learn more about Yoga, experimenting in the kitchen with you and trying out new meals, or meditation in nature.
Improv theatre if we feel like it :)
What I Can Share with Hosts

Cultural differences between Germans and the rest of the world. Actually, I focus more on what we have in common. But it helps to understand why Germans do certain things so or so. I might know when you ask.
