About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Doing now what all good flower children did in their 20s, finding mySelf.

ABOUT ME

Come on. "All about you"? I'm a writer. That would fill tomes.

I'm a musician, a writer, a gentle, empathic woman and mom, divorced/ing, with three sons. I'm an unschooler at heart, (google that) inspired by anti-consumer sentiments and I like to cook.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is a work in process. Mostly, I want to connect, deeply connect, with me, with water, fire and earth, and you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm brand new to couchsurfing. Several of my friends have hosted and traveled with couchsurfing and I'm open to see what unfolds for me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've enjoyed couchsurfing vicariously, meeting and enjoying the company of fellow couchsurf hosts and travelers. My turn now.

Interests

Music and words are my passion. I travel with my twelve string and paper, everywhere I go.

  • writing

Music, Movies, and Books

Daniel Quinn's books, most of them, notably My Ishmael, have been a great influence. Instinct, the movie inspired by Quinn's Ishmael, moved me deeply, years before I discovered the books. John Taylor Gatto, John Holt and Alfie Kohn are authors I read without needing to consider titles.

For a while, I immersed in sociological and political documentaries, like, The Corporation, Darwin's Nightmare, WalMart: The High Cost of Low Price, Food Inc., and books of the same ilk, Kunstler's The Long Emergency, like that. Now, macro's gone micro, and I'm reading books about emotional intelligence, and stuff.

Musically, my taste is diverse. Imogen Heap, Nightwish, Nirvana, John Denver, Eva Cassidy, Mozart. Like that.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Camping in the Everglades, Florida. Sussing out a residential experience in Ojochal, Costa Rica. Free diving with green sea turtles in Maui, Hawaii. And that time I swam with a puffer fish for an hour. Staring at the ink pots in Johnstone Canyon, Banff, Alberta.

Above all else, the most amazing thing I've seen in my lifetime is the birthing and living of each of the three boys who came through me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love cooking, and like cooking together. I'm a wizard wordsmith, and I like sharing that gift, supporting others, where it may serve. I love making music, and openly welcome the opportunity to pass a night jamming with guitars, drums, keyboards, strings and sticks.
