About Me

I am a passionate traveler who enjoys exploring new destinations, connecting with locals, and immersing myself in different cultures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I believe it's an incredible opportunity to travel and meet amazing friends from all around the world. I want to experience destinations from a local's perspective and truly immerse myself in the culture and traditions of the places I visit.

Staying with locals, you allows me to learn about your way of life, your customs, and your favorite hidden gems that can not be found by Google search or blog posts. It's a unique opportunity to go beyond the touristy attractions and connect with the heart and soul of a place.

Interests

In addition to my love for travel, I have a few other interests, including but not limited to listening to podcasts, dancing salsa and bachata (beginner level), going to the gym, paragliding, and meeting people from all over the world. I also have a curiosity for trying local cuisines, and I particularly enjoy Vietnamese, Thai, and Korean food. I'm always excited to expand my culinary experiences and discover new flavors during my travels.

Music, Movies, and Books

In terms of music, I enjoy R&B from the 90s and funky tunes like the recent works of Bruno Mars, including songs like "Uptown Funk" and his collaboration in Silk Sonic. When I want to relax, I often listen to jazz chill hop. While I don't frequently listen to hip hop or rap, I sometimes enjoy artists like J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar for my workouts.

One movie that I absolutely love is "The Truman Show." It's a thought-provoking film that delves into themes of identity, reality, and the courage to break free from societal expectations. Another film that resonates with me is "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty," as it encourages adventure and stepping out of our comfort zones.

In addition to my love for music and movies, I am an avid podcast listener. Some of my favorite podcasts include Radiolab, Hidden Brain, Invisibilia, Psychology in Everyday Life, and Beautiful Stories from Anonymous People.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amazing things I've done:

- Taking the leap to move across continents without knowing a soul and starting my life from scratch.
- Overcoming a major accident while in Canada and learning the importance of living in the present moment, which inspired me to start traveling again after a 5-year hiatus.
- Skydiving at 18,000 feet over Monterey Bay in San Francisco during my first ever trip abroad.

These experiences have shaped me, taught me valuable lessons, and fuelled my passion for adventure and embracing new opportunities.
