About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Anything is possible if you put your mind to it
ABOUT ME
I was raised in Norway, but spent most of my teenage years in Spain since my father worked in the Canary Islands.
In my daytime job, I work in a shipping company (www.solstad.no) in Skudeneshavn, where I coordinate work related to internal or external profiling activities/projects, events and conferences, our welfare programme (currently including 4 cabins in Norway and 2 in Spain) and a lot of other things...
In my sparetime, I try to find time for movies and reading, as this is something that help me relax...
I also enjoy in particular to share a good meal, a glass of wine or a cup of coffee with friends.
PHILOSOPHY
Like Walt Disney once said; If you can dream it - you can do it!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
As the CS is still new to me, but have already met a lot of nice people through the project. I look forward to get some more experience with it
Since I am involved in the management of the old town in Skudeneshavn (www.skudeneshavn.no), I also like to show people around and tell them about the place. We have a spare bedroom in our house (actually it was initialy a chapel) where the guests have their separate bedroom.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have already met a lot of nice people through CS, and can therefore reckommend it also to other people.
Please however, submit your requests as a request and not as a message.
Interests
I enjoy reading, and also to watch movies. I am in charge of a litterature festival in our hometown, and therefore spend a lot of my spare time, organizing, raising funds, contacting authors and agencies etc and planning for the festival which is held the first weekend in November.
Some relevant links of our town;

Apart from that, I try to find time for ordinary family life, reading, watching movies, staying with friends etc.

Music, Movies, and Books
Even though I enjoy reading and watching movies, I spend most of my spare time for the litterature festival and other voluntary work in my hometown. I therefore do not get to read or watch movies as much as I used to do before. Some of my favourite movies are however Invictus, Crash, Dave, Billy Elliot, Heat, The Godfather, Lost in translation, Groundhog day and Sideways. Having a 7 year old son, I also enjoy watching a lot of animated movies, like Rattatouille, Up!, Shrek, Cars etc with him.
When it comes to books, I currently read authors that are relevant for our festival this year. One of the latest books I read was, The hotel on the corner of bitter and sweet by the American author, Jamie Ford. He is visiting our festival in November this year. One of the books that made most impression last year, was Three cups of tea, by Greg Mortenson. It is really an inspireing story.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of my most adventurous travelling experiences, was diving with great white sharks off the coast of Gaansbai in South Africa in 2005. It changed the way I look at sharks, and can be strongly reckommended!
Teach, Learn, Share
I enjoy learning words and phrases from other languages. I have some limited knowledge in French, German and Polish which I try to improve every time I have a chance.
Currently I am trying to learn Portuguese.
My experience is also that talking to people who share interest in films and/or books quickly lead to other topics where we share interests.
