About Me

CURRENT MISSION

In 2016 I finished making an amazing trip around the world in 365 days with my boyfriend David (https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/wanderlust_wanderer). We travelled through: Russia, Mongolia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, India, Nepal, Thailand, Australia (incl. Tasmania), USA, Canada, Mexico, Cuba, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador.
You can read all about our adventures at our blog www.klogsandkangaroos.com

In 2017 I gave birth to a happy little girl. We are going on grazy holiday adventures with the three of us now.

ABOUT ME

I am addicted to travelling around the world since 2000 and I hope to continue travelling for the rest of my life. In the past I made beautiful backpacking trips, enjoyed luxurious holidays and I lived abroad 3 times for a longer period of time. I started my travel addiction during my studies. I studied International Fashion Management and Cultural Anthropology. I combined these two studies by specializing in labour conditions in de fashion industry. Before the world tour I have been working for seven years for the municipality of The Hague, from which in the last 2,5 years as a policy advisor. I am very close with my family and I also infected them with the travel virus.

Since December 2012 David and I live together in Rotterdam. David moved from Australia to Holland, so we could be together, how romantic, I know... ;-).

One last thing about me; I love going to parties and dance all night (but unfortunately it is long ago that a night like that occurred), watch movies and have picnics/bbq or dinner with friends/family.

Summary: Adventures, crazy, energetic, social, open minded

PHILOSOPHY

Happiness is not a state to arrive at, but a manner of travelling.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love meeting people from all over the world and have interesting chats with them. I quess that is the anthropologist in me ;-)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had the most amazing couchsurf experiences in different parts of the world. I will always remember my first couchsurfing experiences in Australia. All my hosts there were great and interesting people. Couchsurfing made my trip through Australia more intense then I ever expected it to be.

I also hosted two lovely girls at my place. I showed them Rotterdam and they told me a lot about there countries on nice evenings while chatting at the kitchen table.

Interests

Dancing: I love dancing, I can do it all night.

Travel: I love reading about other countries, travelling, meeting and living in other countries with different cultures.

Diving: I like diving. The most beautiful spots where I have been diving were: Great Barrier Reef, Tioman (Malaysia), Egypt (Dahab), Indonesia and Curacao

Yoga: I love doing yoga. You feel so good afterwards.

Boxing: Together with my boyfriend I am taking box lessons since a year. We both enjoy it very much.

Hiking: I love hiking or walking through nature and in the mountains. No punishment for me to let me walk for hours.
