Overview
About Me
I am a home grown hapu whanau member of the Hokianga Harbour. One of the most well steeped places in the early first of contact as a Native descendant with the Settlers historically. In 20 years have travelled and lived with Natives throughout most of Australia visiting Asian countries often. Most recently Bali.
I have returned to my native lands to continue our existence in culture and maintain our cultural connection through a lens of a Māori world view. Our principal home is the Marae and our wealth are our people. So come sit with me and let us say hello first and welcome you to my Māori world view.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am couch surfing to help those that are visiting my Country in providing a couch first and cultural protocols in the lifestyles that we as Māori maintain, look after and share. I hope to give a better view that is not so much corporate. My host will be the most, simple, affordable flexible and open minded in thinking. Like wise to travel and return the favor someday in your country.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Tuna heke (full moon), eels by the thousands would leave our valley here in Utakura into the Hokianga Harbour and out to begin their pilgrimage to Tonga to breed and return home.
Teach, Learn, Share
80 % of the literature written about Māori are from a Settlers view point which is all false as an Aunty of mine told me. She was an academic and had read very book written on Māori History. Now we are correcting the record
